Our Founders
Raney Antoine
After graduating in the top ten percent of his class, Raney was voted most likely to succeed at John Ehret High School. He was a member of the National Honor's Society and attended college on an academic scholarship. He received a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health and was a Respiratory Therapist at West Jefferson Medical Center for fourteen years. He received superior ratings on every employee evaluation. Currently, Raney serves as Executive Director for IDO (Individuals Developing Others) a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. He is a licensed contractor and used his expertise to aid in Hurricane Katrina Recovery.
Raney began his community service by mentoring youth with the Jefferson Parish Department of Juvenile Justice and joined the Jefferson Parish Taskforce Initiative. Knowing how crucial it was to meet the needs of Youths and Seniors of the community, the vision of "New Life Family Center" was birthed. As Executive Director of IDO, he designs and delivers programs that display excellence in seeking resources, collaborations and opportunities that help young people to realize their full potential and sharpen their skills. The youth are empowered to become vital, responsible and contributing members of society.
With the increasing costs of day-to-day living, the rising costs of utilities, prescription medications, and transportation, the seniors have been at a disadvantage. Raney decided that some senior citizens had gone unattended or uncared for far too long. He needed to augment and support the elderly in activities for daily living. These thoughts continue to motivate him to provide a place where seniors can build lasting, positive changes in their lives."
With eleven years of experience mentoring, counseling, training, and leadership, he was appointed as a biographical candidate into the Cambridge and Metropolitan's Who's Who Among Christian Leaders and Professionals and was confirmed on May 5, 2007. Raney was recognized for his continual work in the community and his devotion to improving academic standards of young people. He considers his greatest accomplishments as being a loving husband and father.
