Senior Programs

New Life Family Center will be a social center for families in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana and surrounding communities.  The mission of the Senior Center program is to provide seniors and their families stimulating programs and activities that make life more enjoyable! 

In response to the changing needs of the community at the beginning of a new century, New Life has created "A New Era of Socializing and Caring." Included in our new programming are a Grandparent Resource Center for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren and a Caregiver Resource Center for individuals who are caring for aging relatives and loved ones.  The center's programs will consist of a variety of services and activities in areas including education, creative arts, recreation, advocacy, health, nutrition, case management, and others.  The Senior Center will have a diverse program of activities, appealing to many interests and all energy levels.

Our mission is to:

Provide life-enhancing, enriching, and sustaining services, that have a positive impact on older adults' physical, mental and social well-being.

New Life Senior Program Goals:

• To encourage seniors to have a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. 
• To provide a safe environment and enjoyable activities. 
• To provide seniors with an opportunity to re-discover, develop, and use their unique talents and gifts. 
• To provide healthful eating and physical activity programs to prevent and control obesity and other chronic diseases

New Life will offer Seniors:

• A hot noon meal in our center
• Part-time employment, job training, referral and placement 
• Computer, art and needlecraft classes 
• Individual counseling & case management 
• The company of others 
• Enjoyable and educational activities 
• Water Aerobics
• Health and Fitness Programs
• Improvement in mental and physical health 
• Enhanced or maintained level of independence 
• Socialization and peer support

Adult Daycare Services

Our center will also offer Adult Daycare Services.  Trying to find the time to care for an aging family member or significant other, together with the demands of everyday life, can be overwhelming.  The adult day center has  two missions. The first is to provide older adults with social and some health services, as an alternative to nursing home placement, with the goal of improving the senior's ability to remain independent. The second is to afford caregivers respite from the often-demanding responsibilities of care-giving.

We believe that older adults are fully capable of managing their own lives when the needed resources are available. New Life Family Center intends to provide new life to the seniors and the community and is located in Boutte, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish.
